We are pleased to announce the opening of our gift shop at the Great Escape Coffee Shop.

The shop stocks a wide range of stylish goods including jewellery, glassware, pottery, paintings, wooden crafts, small leather goods, books by local authors, greetings cards and other gifts.

Perfect for presents

Muriel Simpson and Gill Williams manage the shop and are the main organisers and buyers behind the new retail area. The gift shop will be run alongside the coffee shop, using existing coffee shop staff.

The idea to set up the gift shop is the brain child of Muriel. ‘We were already selling local arts and crafts and these were selling well. I thought it would be a good idea to expand our range of gifts and open a full sized gift shop’, explains Muriel. ‘We are continuing to support local small businesses by stocking local arts and crafts, and have a good selection of goods from Made in Cumbria. Our gallery area in the coffee shop is very successful and we run monthly solo exhibitions of local artists and photographers.’ ‘We also stock items from further afield, with the aim of offering unique items, something a little different. They’re good quality products at an affordable price’, says Muriel.
